#221 STRIKING VINTAGE JAPANESE SILK CREPE KIMONO WITH CHRYSANTHEMUM DESIGN...SOLD!!!
This kimono is made from a firm dry handle crepe in a 'limestone' and lavender combination with a gold and cream 'kiku' flower design. Another stunner, from somewhere between the 1960s-1970s, it's a houmongi style - the design flows around the kimono regardless of seams and in this case, also onto the shoulders and sleeves. Originally these styles were for the young and fashionable to be worn somewhere between a formal and casual event like a tea party or to a wedding. They were designed to get you noticed!
Model is 5'10'' with heels.
It is a placement pattern so probably couldn't be enlarged but it could be shortened by 'Objects' resident seamstress to make it emininently wearable.
Measurements are to be found within the images and you can check the measures against a dressing gown or kimono you own and are happy with.
Care notes:-
These are all pre-loved vintage items and will show some evidence of use - occasional
age spots or marks - although we try to choose the most wearable pieces which
are in good condition.
Clean fresh stains and spills with wipes and hang out to air. This should be enough.
Dry clean only as a last resort and NEVER wash. This will prolong the life of
your vintage item.
