So...We've been Londoners for over 30 years; with a slight blip around The Millennium when we went alternative for a few years then came back. We thought we couldn't change.
But this year we did 'The Big Move'; the forever one! We moved out to Birmingham! What's the attraction? We moved everything including the studio to a bigger house with a view to working from home while we explore the possibility of a new studio here...maybe even a shop. The culture here is to be open to new ideas and the place has an artisan buzz to it. Plus, we decided to change things up a bit for ourselves and that the city style black and white with chrome that dominated 'the noughties' was to go and in would come colour, to suit our more Bohemian style, Kings Heath Victorian terrace... and what a difference! The new futon sofa was a massive change and it converts to a double bed in one fold for guests and the cushions are from Birmingham Bull Ring's 'Khaadi'...fun and funky bright graphics but relating to the antique sari throw we brought with us from 'The Orientalist Bazaar' in Kentish Town Road in London, which is hanging on the wall behind it. The dining room behind it is heather coloured and is acquiring new artworks for the walls and is a work in progress. Everything is new and exciting and we're enjoying the local atmosphere and while I worry about getting the house habitable, Romany is busy on her projects which include a May bride's alternative forest wedding outfit.
